Seeking a path between fully improvised and strict adherence to written music, our first effort as a trio treats this set of compositions as suggestive maps to a common destination-resolution. Usually beginning with an in-breath and nod of the horn from Don, we tried to perform each piece with the same ease with which fish swim through water, interacting with each other in the moment. We have tried to create something beyond what would be expected from just reading the ink on the page, leaving space and time for free expression of our collective humanity, imperfect, inspired, and joyful. We hope you feel it and enjoy it.
